Angel Mel Selector was born and bred in the heart and soul of the Bristol music scene. Coming from the West Country with her roots are firmly planted in Reggae, Drum & Bass and Trip Hop, later branching into other areas of underground dance music genres, such as Acid Jazz, Broken Beat and Deep and Soulful House.
She refers to herself as a selector and specialises in playing long sets where she can weave her magic. Choosing the juiciest cuts from a wide cross-section of music including; Soul, Funk, Rare Groove, Boogie, Disco, Soulful & Deep Afro House, Garage, Electronica, party anthems and Club Classics. She is like a chameleon and can play most genres with enthusiasm due to her outstanding and diverse knowledge of music.
Angel Mel says “I believe the music should be played the way it was intended without tricks or gimmicks; and by reading the crowd and making sure my sets are fun and inclusive, giving the audience the best experience. With a big smile and infectious energy and dance moves, I bring the ingredients to make any event a night to remember.”
As well as being a professional DJ Selector, Angel has worked on local radio for many years, from BCfm to Soul Train Radio and now here on Ujima Radio, Bristol’s number 1 station.

DJ Style has been an instrumental part of establishing the Hip-Hop & R’n’B scene in Bristol for the last 32 years , and has played alongside the likes of , Roni Size, Jazzie B, Rampage, Semtex, Rapattack, Ronnie Herell, New York City DJ Stretch Armstrong, reggae legends Dawn Penn, Janet Kay, Omar, and has been support DJ at performances from Tribe Called Quest, Donell Jones, Gwen McCrae, Arrested Development, VIP Area for Massive Attack’s concert at Westonbirt Arboretum.
DJ Style started out presenting shows on the Pirate station, S.P.E.C FM, Raw FM, Dance FM, & Passion FM, then eventually working on RSL (Restricted Service License) Bay FM, Xpress FM (Cardiff) Respec FM, Powerjam, Ujima Radio, West One, Burst FM (U.W.E) Kute FM, SOS (Shade Of Soul) and has been featured on Galaxy 101 (now Kiss 101) and BBC Radio Bristol.
