Xcel DJ
1st Saturday of every month is DJ Xcel- playing an exclusive mix of back to back new releases, reggae and one drop for 2 hours. We are so proud to include DJ Xcel on our roster of talent, having established and earned her stripes as a DJ in her own right, we are very proud to have the daughter of the pioneering and iconic Ranking Miss P and niece of Rita Marley on our airwaves.
Peter D Rose – More Rockers/Smith & Mighty
Every 2nd Saturday of the month will be Peter D Rose from Smith & Mighty & More Rockers. Playing a mix of 140’s, dub, reggae, jungle and electronica. Peter D is one of the pioneers and originators of the world renowned Bristol Sound!
Every 3rd Saturday of the month Ujima are proud to add Congo Iain’s Reggae Selection to the roster of DJs on Legends in the Mix. Congo Iain delivers the very best in roots, reggae, and feel-good vibes. Blending sounds from Blue beat, Ska, Rock steady, Dub, Roots, Lovers Rock, Dance-hall, Ragga, and everything in between, this regular show invites listeners to skank, wind, and move to the rhythm—or simply “shuffle those shoes.” Whether tuning in at home or on the move, audiences can expect a rich mix of classic cuts, fresh releases, and special features, all driven by positive energy.
With several years’ experience as both a radio presenter and live selector at clubs and festivals, Congo Iain has developed a versatile and engaging style. He takes pride in championing local Bristol and West Country artists, seamlessly weaving their music alongside national and international sounds.
Reliable, adaptable, and passionate about the culture, Congo Iain effortlessly moves between reggae flavours while maintaining an upbeat and infectious atmosphere. Flynnites – DJ & Producer
Last Saturday of the month is DJ & Producer, Flynnites hosting his unique blend of tunes for 2 hours. Flynn is one of the originators of the Bristol Sound, playing Hip Hop to DnB, Flynn represents with his own style of electronica. Kicking off his trailblazing career with Fresh Four and the timeless track “Wishing on a Star” produced by Smith & Mighty to the years of DJ-ing with Jungle Pioneer Flora.
